Armand Marciano

Family Chateaux, Co-Founder Guess Jeans

Armand Marciano is a Founder of Guess Jeans, a global retail clothing company. Mr. Marciano along with his two brothers, Georges and Maurice, started MGA Clothing in France that grew to 22 stores before they sold the stores and moved their operations to the United States in 1981, changing the name to Guess and bringing on a third brother, Paul.

For more than 32 years Mr. Marciano owned MGA/Guess with his brothers and was in charge of operations for the international retailer.  For 14 years Guess was a private family owned business with each of the brothers overseeing different roles within the company.  Armand was in charge of opening all free-standing retail stores, which included identifying retail locations, negotiated leases, managed the store operations, and hiring and managing retail staff, including the Regional Manager, Divisional Manager and Store Managers.  In 1996 Guess Jeans was taken public and grew to an international retail company with locations in 90+ countries.  In 1999 Armand took on the responsibility of building the new state of the art Guess distribution center in Louisville, Kentucky, a 500,000 sqft. facility, hiring over 120 people to run the center.  Armand was in charge of the construction, identifying and implementing computerized systems, implementing company policies and overseeing the project management of the facility.  Armand left Guess in 2003 and became a co-owner of ABS, a US based retail women’s contemporary brand, which he owned for 10 years with his partner Allen Schwartz.

Armand and his wife Tami Marciano act as Co-Managing Principals of Kautzman Alliance, LLC, the Marciano Family’s direct investment holding company. The holding company owns an interest in a number of private companies to include Seal Harbor Partners, a real estate investment firm; Xcellerate Mobile, LLC, a technology company; and Duke of Bourbon, a high-end wine and spirits retailer.

The Marciano’s enjoy time with their family of seven children/step children and two grandchildren. Together they share interests in traveling, golf and are active in a number of philanthropic organizations.
