R. Sivakumar (Siva)

Co-Founder of Pragya Ventures

Ramamurthy Sivakumar (Siva) spent nearly his entire adult life at Intel Corporation before stepping down in Dec 2018 to pursue other interests.  Siva served as Vice President and Managing Director at Intel Capital overseeing investments in Sports, Media & Entertainment, Bioinformatics and FinTech.

In earlier roles, Siva drove investments in a number of core and applied technology areas including networking, 3D, AR/VR and multimedia, while managing Intel’s $300M Ultrabook and Perceptual Computing Fund. Siva was a voting member of the investment committee at Intel Capital for the last 7 years.

Siva started his career in 1988 as an R&D software engineer in networking and multimedia at Intel Labs. He drove the development of a number of enterprise video products and co-authored a US patent in multicast video technology. Siva switched career in the mid-1990s to focus on Intel’s market entry into India, driving strategic programs including investing in India’s startups. Siva eventually ran Intel Capital’s M&A program for 5 years and was CEO of Intel South Asia for 6 years.

Siva recently co-founded Pragya Ventures, an investment fund focused on the next wave of data-centric businesses that commercialize AI and other core technologies. Siva serves as Chairman to the German Surgical Robotics company Avatera.
